This lesson introduces IELTS Speaking Part 2, which focuses primarily on giving an extended response. You need to speak from 1 to 2 minutes. My suggestion is to speak the entire 2 minutes.

Example Response
A monument that I love is the Statue of Liberty. This iconic monument stands proudly in New York City, specifically on Liberty Island in the harbor. The statue is a colossal copper sculpture portraying a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom. It holds a torch above its head with one hand and a tablet inscribed with the date of the American Declaration of Independence in the other.
I admire the Statue of Liberty for its rich symbolism and what it represents. It stands as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy, welcoming immigrants and embodying hope and opportunity. Its history and the values it embodies make it a powerful and inspiring monument, resonating with people worldwide.
