Problem/Solution Essay:

Rephrasing the Prompt:

  • Instead of "Discuss the problems and solutions...," you can use:

    • Analyze the challenges of ... and propose effective solutions.

    • Identify the root causes of ... and suggest potential remedies.

    • Explore the issue of ... and evaluate possible strategies to address it.

Discussing Problems:

  • Use strong verbs to describe the problem's impact: "hinder," "impede," "exacerbate," "jeopardize"

  • Use nouns emphasizing the severity: "challenges," "obstacles," "threats," "deficiencies"

Discussing Solutions:

  • Use verbs that show effectiveness: "mitigate," "eradicate," "alleviate," "bolster"

  • Use nouns that convey positive outcomes: "improvements," "reforms," "initiatives," "approaches"

Cause/Effect Essay:

Rephrasing the Prompt:

  • Instead of "Discuss the benefits and drawbacks...," you can use:

    • Analyze the factors contributing to ... and explore their consequences.

    • Evaluate the causes of ... and examine the resulting effects.

    • Investigate the phenomenon of ... and assess its impact on ...

Discussing Causes:

  • Use nouns that identify the root of the issue: "factors," "influences," "catalysts," "determinants"

  • Use verbs that show a cause-and-effect relationship: "contribute to," "trigger," "lead to," "precipitate"

Discussing Effects:

  • Use nouns that describe the outcome: "consequences," "impacts," "repercussions," "ramifications"

  • Use verbs that show the extent of the effect: "cause," "result in," "trigger," "exacerbate"
